Come celebrate with the Zonta Club of Oakville! We are excited to reach our 50th milestone providing service and advocacy in our community since 1973. The Zonta Club of Oakville is thrilled to support Shifra Homes, Halton’s only maternity residence and shelter for young homeless pregnant women.
This 70’s-themed event includes a buffet dinner, silent and live auctions, live band Rude Awakening, dancing, laughter, and more. Dressing in 70’s attire is welcome, BUT optional. Please join us to celebrate 50 years of accomplishments and memories.
ABOUT SHIFRA HOMES
All proceeds go to Shifra Homes. Shifra Homes is a safe home for young, homeless, pregnant women between the ages of sixteen and twenty-seven years. It is the only focused maternity shelter available in Halton Region. In response to the growing need for this community resource, Shifra recently opened a third home.
Shifra’s Residential Seeds of Hope Program provides shelter, food, support, and other resources enabling these women to go through their pregnancy with less stress and fear. Shifra provides an environment of dignity and care, empowering the journey towards successful motherhood. Shifra fosters hope and optimism for the new mothers as well as protecting and nurturing the development of the new life.
This program prepares the mothers for a more successful future and supports them and their babies for one year, while they transition back into independence. Visit Website
